“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
Tonight someone said to me, “You’re an inspiration!” Thank you, my friend. I guess I must be doing something right.
All my life I have been told that I am a leader, and I have tried to study and grow as a leader over the years in whatever ways I could. But over the last few months, I have learned more about myself as a leader and the kind of leader I want to be than in all my years of study. I have been surrounded by some of the most amazing leaders I have ever known, people who not only know how to cast vision but who do so with a sincerity and clarity of heart and mind, people with such love and respect for others that it becomes contagious and…inspiring…
Belief Statement #8:
“I am a strong leader developing my skills every day
to help others make a difference in the world.
I am an ardent defender of people and a purpose.
I am a champion of other champions.”
Since I am not promised tomorrow, I must choose today to live the way I want to be remembered—as a difference-maker, as a true friend, as a champion of anyone in need of one.
“Leadership is far more than skill, position or power. A life of character, integrity and honor is the leader’s ultimate leverage in influencing others.” – Rick Loy
In a training program I am attending weekly right now, I heard it put this way: you can tell if someone is a leader just by looking to see if there’s anyone following.
Anyone following out there?
